The Jets victory did not surprise me at all. It’s not because they aren’t good, they have a great defense and a solid run game which will keep you alive for 60 minutes. The truth, they where playing the Bengals. Did anybody outside of the Bengals locker room believe they would make a deep run in the playoffs…no they did not. Carson Palmer, where have you gone? 18 for 36 145 yards and 1 TD…that is wrong. It turns out Marvin Lewis could be a heck of a lot smarter than we give him credit for. Did he go to Cedric Benson and the run game all year because he didn’t trust Palmer to win games? Palmer only threw for 3,096 yards in a throw first league. For being an elite QB from 05 – 07 he seems to have gone the other way. It’s going to be interesting to see what the Bengals and Palmer do next year. And one more thing about the Jets…Rex Ryan rules!!
Patriots going the other way? Of course Belichick is a genius, you don’t win 3 Super Bowls in 4 years because you’re lucky. But as quickly as you get hot and lucky, you can get cold an unlucky. If professional sports have taught us anything it’s that nobody can sustain success for the long term. And of course that Spy Gate karma is alive and well.
Baseball and steroids is an absolute joke!! The fact both users and owners/MLB employees continue lie to the public is not only an insult it’s an embarrassment to everyone involved. I am beyond tired listening to guys use injuries as an excuse to why they decided to take them. The truth is I’m not sure I care they took them in the first place. What I do care about is they continue to lie about why they used. Tony LaRussa comments about McGwire’s admission to taking steroids, “I didn’t know anything except that I knew we ran a legit program and that Mark was a good example of working his butt off and getting his strength gains as a product of hard work. I did, and still speak to his character and integrity.” Is Tony serious? I know he’s a drunk who fell asleep in his car but WAKE UP Tony!!! Nobody believes you. The crazy thing is nobody is asking for anything back so why lie? But here is my favorite part, the fact that McGwire believes he hid his use from everybody….OK that’s my second favorite part. My real favorite part is that the Cardinals hired a lifetime .263 hitter as there batting coach.
